Education in Medicine Journal (doi:10.5959/eimj.issn21801932) is an official open-access free online journal. The main purpose of the journal is to publish quality articles and to disseminate essential information related to medical and allied health education. Statement or opinion express in the Education in Medicine Journal reflect the view of author(s) and do not reflect the official policy of the journal unless it is clearly stated and specified.

Starting from 2011, this journal publishes articles twice a year (i.e. June and December issues) in order to allow more room for more articles to be published. The frequency of journal publications will be increased in the future if it is indicated. Official announcement will be made from time to time in this website.

Starting in August 2011, this journal also offers authors to consider publishing their works through post publication peer review model via WebmedCentral platform. For further information please visit this WebmedCentral Associated Journal website  for Education in Medicine.

We are pleased to announce that this journal is indexed in the CrossRef, EBSCO (Academic Search Complete) database, IndexCopernicus, Malaysian Abstracting and Indexing System (MyAIS), UDLTheses Database, MedEduWorld, MedEdCentral database, National Library of Malaysia and Google Scholar. We are glad to inform that all published articles will be assigned DOI. We are working very hard in increasing the standard of the journal in order to be indexed in more databases.

We are delighted to inform that according to the  Google Analytics report (20 Dec 2009 – 15 Feb 2012), the Education in Medicine Journal website was accessed by 97 countries and 519 cities originated from Asia (58.88%), Americas (15.93%), Europe (17.85%), Africa (4.09%) and Oceania (3.25%) continents. We are working hard to ensure articles published in this journal reach the target audience.

Instruction to Author(s)

The Journal encourages all contributors to submit their manuscript(s) through email eimjeditor@saifulbahri.com. Manuscript preparation must meet the Journal requirement, which are in accordance with ‘Uniform Requirement for Manuscript Submitted to Biomedical Journal’ developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (available at www.cimje.org). Manuscript should be concisely written, appropriately referenced (recommended is vancouver citation) and coherently focus. Originality and policy: Manuscript are reviewed with the understanding that they represent original material, have never been published before, are not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and have been approved by all authors. All accepted manuscripts become the property of www.saifulbahri.com and may not be published elsewhere.

The journal publishes original articles, review articles, commentaries, special communications, innovative ideas, and short reports on interesting programme, workshops or student activities. All manuscripts will be send through ‘blinded peer-review process’ and it will take around 1 to 2 months. Decision on articles acceptance for publication will be made not more than 3 months.

For articles on short reports (programme, workshop or student activities) maximum words are 500. Starting from October 2011, authors must include at least 1 reference and maximum of 3 references in the report. The format is as below (figures and tables are not required, e.g. PDF):
